Event Recap
At our second Cornerstone event in this year’s theme, "Distortions of the Truth," Charissa taught a lesson titled, "A Woman’s Place of Impact." The women learned about the rightful place of the church in their lives and how they can prioritize the church while also fulfilling biblical gender roles.
While the roles that God has given women, such as being a wife (Genesis 2:18-22) and homemaker (Titus 2:3-5), are unique and good, many women often misplace their priorities. They compartmentalize their lives to revolve around the family and the home rather than centering their family around the church. Women stop attending events, serve less, and choose whom they talk to solely based on their children’s needs. This shows a distorted view of the church in which Christ died for and is His precious bride (Ephesians 5:22-27). Rather than seeing our role in the church as inconsequential, we can grow in our love for the church and in our appreciation of God’s good design for the body of Christ. God has specifically designed the church so that every member is active in service for the benefit of the body as a whole (1 Corinthians 12:14-21). When women adopt a family-centered mindset, it has a detrimental effect on the church by making it imbalanced and ineffective. It prevents the church from pouring into her, diminishes her potential for spiritual growth, and results in the church losing the use of her spiritual gift (1 Corinthians 12:4-7).
God has uniquely designed the family and the church to build into one another. There is infinite potential for women to impact the church when they rightly prioritize it because it not only enhances parenting and marriage but also provides spiritual refreshment and sets an example for children to follow. Praise God for His wisdom in His design for both the church and the family, which is ultimately for our good and benefit. Let us grow in cherishing His design by loving the church and giving it the right priority in our lives!

Event Testimonial
Here's what our sister, Caroline, learned:
“So thankful for a time of being encouraged and challenged by God’s Word at our Cornerstone: A Woman’s Place of Impact! I was encouraged by the truth that prioritizing the church is not about just adding to or subtracting from our to-do lists, but about growing in a heart that loves God and values what He values! Charissa’s diagnostic questions were so helpful in rooting out subtle family-centric thinking and pointing us to making God-centered decisions in every season of life! What a privilege it is to be part of His precious body and to be given gifts and abilities to maximize for His glory! I want to impact the church by God’s grace by living out Titus 2, pouring into the women of the church to live lives that adorn the gospel of Christ! I also want to grow in being devoted to centering our family around God’s priorities and exemplifying love for God in all areas of life to my children!”
