Kainos Summer

Kainos Summer Tea

Event Recap

At Kainos Summer Tea, the women had a fun time of drinking tea, enjoying a delicious array of of tea party pastries, having fellowship with one another, and playing tea related activities. These activities included guessing the name of the tea inside of numbered bags and tea pictionary with challenging twists.

At the event, Ivana gave a testimonial on the Women’s Fellowship lesson, “Comfort in the Church,” and shared how the lesson encouraged her to find comfort in the eternal value of the church rather than the physical location of her home by actively planning time to pray for others.

We also had the joy of hearing Sara give a devotional on the topic “Hope in Daily Life.” When we act hopeless, we forget the truths we know about God. In her devotional, Sara identified three ways the feeling of failure robs us of hope.

First, we can feel like failures when we rely on ourselves instead of God. Rather than being overcome by hopelessness, we can trust God has already predestined our every work (Ephesians 2:10), is actively working through us, and is completely sovereign (Romans 8:28). Second, instead of having unrealistic expectations, we have hope in knowing His timing is perfect and that He will never fail to sanctify us (Philippians 1:6). Lastly, when we have a defeatist attitude towards our sin, we can seek to be obedient knowing it will build proven character and hope (Romans 5:1-5)!

Although we may feel hopeless at times, we have a great, powerful, and true hope in God, so let us be sober spirited and fixed on this hope in every circumstance (1 Peter 4:7)!

Event Testimonial

Here's what our sister Alisa learned:
"In addition to all the summer tea festivities, I was encouraged by Sara’s devotional highlighting the living hope we have through the resurrection of Christ, as seen in 1 Peter 1:3! She even ran through the life of Peter who wrote that very epistle - how even though there are many accounts of his failures and foolishness throughout the gospels, he was marked by that hope in Christ to keep going and grow to become a force to be reckoned with during the establishing of the church! I too want to be like Peter and be characterized by a living hope in my daily life, not to be affected by discouragement as soon as I fail, but to have the hopeful outlook that we can only have through Christ! After all, He has promised that He will complete that good work He has begun in our lives (Philippians 1:6)! To have hope in our daily lives can directly impact the rate of our own sanctification and growth, and that’s something I’m excited to see in my life and others’ as we apply the devo!"
