Event Recap
Women of Gold was a fun and refreshing time of fellowship with other sisters. We heard God's Word taught by our sister, Kayleen, in a lesson titled, “Ambition.” She defined ambition as “a love for God that leads to an all-encompassing, sold-out dedication to pursue your God-given purpose through hard work and determination” based on 2 Corinthians 5:9. Kayleen walked us through the definition of ambition by identifying ambition’s motivation, magnitude, and manner.
First, ambition is motivated by a love for God, and this marks the difference between godly and worldly ambition. As seen in the life of Paul, he was driven by his personal relationship with God and a desire to please Him (2 Corinthians 5:6-8). When we serve out of a motivation to please others or ourselves, our ambition is ineffectual and burdensome because it does not fulfill God’s purpose to honor Him. Conversely, when our ambition is motivated by genuine love for God, it will be sustained and have a powerful impact!
Second, ambition’s magnitude is all-encompassing, as there are no qualifiers for who should be ambitious. Rather, it is an expectation of every Christian (2 Corinthians 5:9) regardless of their life stage, spiritual maturity, or personality type to fulfill our purpose of glorifying God with 100% commitment and effort.
Third, ambition’s manner is one of hard work and dedication. It requires us to count the cost of following Christ (Luke 14:25-30) and to combat any hindrances to our ambition such as comfort and laziness. May our love for God drive us to be sacrificial for Him just as He lovingly chose to sacrifice for us (1 John 4:8)!
We also had a time of practical training taught by Caroline about how to create a schedule! She encouraged us with the biblical principles behind creating a schedule such as that time is a stewardship (Romans 14:12) and is valuable (Psalm 90:12). We also learned many useful tips such as identifying higher priority tasks first and time-blocking.
Praise God that as Christians, we can be ambitious for God’s glory and that although it requires hard work and effort, ultimately it is the most rewarding life we can have because it fulfills our God-given purpose to glorify Him!

Event Testimonial
Here is what our sister, Kristen, learned:
"Women of Gold was such a fun time learning what it looks like to be a woman of ambition who can live her life impactfully for the Lord! Our sister Kayleen taught a lesson titled, "Ambition" where she defined ambition as "a love for God that leads to an all-encompassing, sold-out dedication to pursue your God-given purpose through hard work and determination." One part of her lesson that stood out to me was when she talked about how godly ambition is motivated by a love for God and is dependent upon His grace. In contrast, a worldly ambition is prideful, self-exalting, and dependent upon self. In my life and ministry, I often see myself relying upon myself and my efforts rather than God, which results in a lack of joy and feelings of burnout. I want to grow in having a right and godly ambition by combating the attitude of pride, deepening my love for the Lord, and depending on Him through consistent, constant prayer. Praise God that when we have a heart that truly seeks to love Him, we can be women of impact with a lasting, sustained, and powerful ambition!"
