Women of Gold

Courageous Faith

Event Recap

At the last Women of Gold event for this school year, Jessica taught a lesson titled, “Courageous Faith” which was about trusting in God and being bold for Him in all circumstances. She taught that boldness for the Lord is seeing Him as the big God He is, not minimizing Him by undermining what He can do in our lives. This means not being hindered, discouraged, or made anxious by any circumstance that comes our way because God is our mighty source of courage.

Jessica talked about how trusting in the Lord is smiling at the future, like the woman in Proverbs 31:25. Rather than being anxious about all the things she has to do, she is courageous and looks forward to how God’s strength and goodness can be manifested in every situation. We can choose to have faith in God by constantly seeking and depending on Him, being faithful and joyful in our service to the church even when we are busy.

We also learned about trusting God in prayer (1 John 5:14-15). This looks like being bold in our prayers—taking courage to ask for specific things in Christ’s name and having faith that God will provide the perfect answer. We can trust that there is nothing too big or too small for God to handle.

And courageously trusting the Lord in prayer should lead to praise and thanksgiving. In every circumstance, whether seemingly favorable or not, we can be thankful to God because we have faith that He is working through it all. We can take courage knowing that God will work through us as we work faithfully for Him.

Event Testimonial

Here's what our sister Nicole learned:
"Women of Gold was so wonderful! Jess taught us about courageous faith and she helped me understand that in order to grow in my courage I need to be growing in my faith, which is the certainty of God's character and promises. Jeremiah 17:7-8 reminds us that as believers when we trust and have faith in God, we are firmly rooted and in the best conditions to thrive for His glory! Something I want to apply is to be actively responding courageously in every occasion in order to be fully satisfied that God's will was done. Whether in my responsibilities or lessons that I'm learning, regardless of the outcome, it was in His strength that I was able to depend on and I can credit all good things to His blessings in my life. I can be ambitious to further respond courageously to every situation because God is my hope and my stronghold!"
