"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."
Hebrews 11:1

Women's Fellowship is a teaching series in which the women learn from God's Word and enjoy biblical fellowship with one another. This year, we will be going through lessons centered around the theme, “Faith: Heart and Eyes Fixed on God.”
These lessons are meant to help women understand how to have a steadfast faith that is grounded in God. When we understand what faith is and where it comes from, we can have consistent hope and joy in our daily lives, grow in having faith in difficult circumstances, and treasure it for the precious gift that it is. Faith plays a vital role in our spiritual walk, so how can we become women who live confidently by faith?
Come join us once a month on Sundays at 11 AM after worship service for a sweet time learning together from God’s Word about having faith that is fully fixed on God!

Lesson Recap
In Kayleen’s lesson on “Tested and Proven,” she taught us about how trials test the quality of our faith and are ultimately predestined by God for the purpose of our growth. We learned that trials grow our faith in three ways: by fostering a proven and sincere faith, giving us an enduring and strengthened faith, and creating a mature faith.
First, trials create a proven and sincere faith by enabling us to see through God’s perspective. In 1 Peter 1:6-7, Peter is addressing the persecuted church and encouraging them to see the nature of trials from an eternal perspective. Trials and sufferings are momentary, temporary afflictions within God’s sovereign plan. God is not surprised by the trials that we face, but allows them, giving us the exact trials we need to remove any hindrances to a pure faith (Lamentations 3:37-38). Rather than seeing trials as burdens, we should see them as the precious gifts that they are.
Second, trials produce the opportunity for us to have an enduring and strengthened faith. Instead of facing trials begrudgingly, we can be joyful in the midst of trials knowing God uses them for our sanctification (James 1:2-3). We can have genuine joy when we anticipate how God will work in our lives and consider how we can humbly submit to His good plans. Through the faith that is borne from trials, we are ultimately built up to have an even greater service and usefulness for God.
Third, our faith is able to become mature through trials as facing trials reveals our weaknesses. James 1:4 shows God’s vision for our growth: He wants our faith to be completely mature, without lacking in any area.
How amazing it is that our God thinks so highly of us that He desires for us to have a strong, mature faith! Let us rejoice in seeing the great care of our God, who appoints trials in our lives for the purpose of our sanctification, and make the most of our trials by seeing them as opportunities to grow in having a steadfast faith!

Faith is a gift and a treasure! As Christians, we should cherish the preciousness of our faith, but sometimes we may not see its value. Instead, how can we live each day in light of how God sees and prizes our faith? Join us at our next Women’s Fellowship lesson on “Preciousness of Faith” to learn why our faith is so valuable and why understanding this truth enables us to leave behind a legacy of faith.
The lesson will be streamed live on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 11 AM PDT.
